In Christianity, there is a true and false profession of Jesus Christ. This can be seen in some of the Lord’s parables like the wheat and tares. Both are growing together as a spoiled crop in a field (world). The crop represents all of Christendom. The wheat was planted by the Son of Man – this is the true work of God, the true profession and Christian. The tares were planted by Satan and are the sons of the wicked one. The crop stays this way for the entire Christian dispensation. Unfortunately, this represents the true and false profession mixed together in Christianity (Matt. 13:24-30, 37-43). Another parable which shows this same mixture in Christianity is the ten virgins in Matthew twenty-five. Although they all look the same and were given the same responsibility, there were actually five foolish and five wise (Matt. 25:1-13). One comfort for the true believer is that in this mixture the Lord knows those who are His (2 Tim. 2:19). In Scripture false teaching is often characterized by leaven added and spreading in certain foods (Matt. 13:33).

It is important for every Christian to be conscious and ever vigilant of false profession and teaching.  Some articles that elaborate on this subject are listed below:
